RDS -Rotary Driver
The RDS Rotary Drive system was
developed by Harley Michaelis as a low drag aileron and flap drive mechanism.
It uses a direct rotating rod attached to the output spline of the servo.
A cranked driver rod slots into a tight fitting box in the aileron.
When the servo rotates, the angled Crank raises or lowers the aileron.
The diagram below shows the installation
in my Claim Jumper slope racer. The wing is blue foam
skinned with 1/16" balsa and finished with 3/4 oz. glass
